Raised on desert ranch land in New Mexico, and then in the Texas Hill Country, I have always connected with the land and with animals. I still treasure what working with horses taught me, and apply that approach when working with my clients.
For 20 years as a Bay Area resident, the last 18 years have been as a certified massage therapist. The National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA provided my well-rounded 750 hour education in massage therapy and wellness. My career has spanned luxury spas around the San Francisco Bay Area (Remede, Spa Viatale, Rosewood Sense Spa), 8 years at Big Fish gaming studio as their corporate massage therapist, several years being mentored while working in the office of some of the best chiropractors in the Bay Area (see Resources!), and bringing bliss and relief to clients in the comfort of their own homes.
As a life-long student of movement, dance has always been an active passion and an outlet. I’ve studied many genres from ballet, jazz, tap, Cuban-contemporary, swing, salsa, bachata, and Brazilian zouk. This has honed a heightened, natural awareness of my own body, and largely informs my work as a massage therapist.
Being Mama to two brilliant, beautiful, curious boys - one a teenager, the other a toddler - occupies the bulk of my time and life’s focus. We have a giant, fluffy Auzzi-doodle, with whom we enjoy hiking.
I love bringing folks together and exploring the alchemy of connection. Learning herbal uses, foraging, studying parenting philosophies and psychology, outdoor adventures, yoga, bath houses, getting massages and mindfulness are my most engaged in activities.
“No matter how aware we are of it, each moment we live is a succession of the past, and falls into or helps construct the next. When I observe the moments lived simultaneously by those around me, we fall into each others' moments or help construct each others' futures by being in the now, living side by side. Among many things, our moments are full, FULL, of hope, sorrow, strength, joy, anger and love. The greatest of these is love. And it is greatest as a shared experience.”
