FAQ

What is your style of massage like?

It tends to be a mix of relaxation and therapeutic, with a good dose of exercise and wellness therapy after the massage, if desired. Modalities I am influenced by are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myo-Fascial, Sports, Pre and Post-Natal, PNF Stretching, Mobilized Pin and Release techniques, Tui Na, Shiatsu, Thai, Mindfulness Meditation, Guided Imagery, Yoga, and Structural Alignment.

I’m ticklish! Is there a way I can comfortably receive a massage?

Yes! I’ll use lighter or deeper pressure depending on what feels most able to be received by you. I’ll also likely use a broader stroke.

Do you do happy endings?

No. B Massage does not engage in sexual or flirtatious behavior, whether implied or overt. Please be aware that if a therapist feels engaged in this way, the service may come to an immediate and early end. Payment in full will be paid by client.

What am I feeling?

Massage therapy can cause the body to release what it has been holding onto in some unexpected ways, including the expression of an array of emotions, passing of gas, and vocal utterances. You are encouraged to feel what you feel, and let things pass without holding them in. No judgment. You’re in a safe place to experience everything in depth.

I’m sick, will massage help?

Please reschedule your appointment with 48 hours of advance notice, if you feel that you are contagious and/or are not over the worst of your illness. The human body works hard to find the antibodies with which to ensure a victory over whatever your body is fighting. If you have a massage before the worst of it is over, your body has not yet found its sure path to victory. A massage will only help to circulate the illness, sometimes making symptoms worse. Once you are on the mend, however, a massage might intensify the symptoms, yet you will recover faster as the circulatory and lymphatic systems will be stimulated and supported by the massage.

What do I wear?

Feel free to wear as much or as little clothing as you are most comfortable in. I can work over clothing and on bare skin alike. If you opt for no clothing, you’ll be draped in a sheet the entire massage, revealing only the body part as it’s being massaged.

Should I speak up if I want more or less pressure?

Please DO verbally communicate if you want a change in pressure, a different technique, etc. I welcome feedback and want you to get what you want out of the massage. Feedback is welcome during the massage, don’t be shy!

Should I tip?

Your generosity is always appreciated, never expected. If you do feel so inclined, 15% to 30% of the cost of the service is the standard industry amount, packages included.

Should I take a shower and shave my legs before a massage?

Clean bodies on my table only! Long hair, don’t care!
